In 1993, after 15 years in Ag Retail and Custom Application, Bernie Paulson and his wife, Patricia, started McPherson Crop Management.  The business was based out of their home in the village of St. Clair, Minnesota, McPherson Township, which inspired the name of the business.  The early focus of the service based business was nutrient management, weed control, and seed selection.  Early adoption of GIS software and GPS based soil sampling kept McPherson Crop Management on the leading edge of Precision Agriculture.  After moving the family and business to Pat’s home farm in 1998, the long time dream of farming the Schneider Home Farm became possible.  Farm Works software and hardware were added to the company offering and Andy Dimmel joined us as a GIS and Field Technician in 2000.

Business growth was the key driver to move to nearby Janesville, MN in 2005.  A store front and large office space helped drive the double digit annual sales growth.  As business grew, Andy Dimmel was able to take on more client responsibility and soon was handling most of the GIS software duties, Nutrient Management, Crop Scouting and Consulting.  In 2008, Bernie Zellmer joined our staff as Office Manager and sales lead for Farm Works software and hardware sales.  With her efforts, MCM is a leader in Ag Software sales, training and support in Minnesota.  With continued sales growth and increased demand for our services, Randy Depuydt joined us in 2013.  Randy is our GIS Specialists and is responsible for field sampling and data management operations.  The MCM team, working together to meet our client needs, has grown our consulting business to over 175,000 acres in 2015.

With continued business growth, new office space was needed.  Located at 602 E 1st St, our office was completed in June of 2014.  This has been a welcome addition for our employees and clients.  McPherson Crop Management has the office space, conference and meeting facilities to ensure our clients the professional and confidential services they deserve.  We look forward to an opportunity to service you.
